Hey, look, I found this today. You have been gathering dust for awhile, old friend. Looking at this has put me through such a strange nostalgia trip on this fine April day in two-thousand-and-nine.
I feel as though, writing in this, right here, right now, I'm actually in the future. I'm still in two-thousand-and-six at home, waiting for Joel to stop by, staring at that hunk of plastic we'd call a desktop. Greetings. I bring you news from the future.
I'm sitting on my bed in my dorm room, which I no longer think of as a dorm room. It's my home. I don't wait for Joel to stop by as he has found new love and I support him and am very happy for him. I stare out over Robie Hill, at the church. I wait for the bell to toll and I smile. Today I took a nap outside of Corthell in the grass. A boy I had met the day earlier asked me to share a joint with him in the woods. I politely declined the offer, and slept some more in the sunlight.
In three years, you will be finding yourself quite torn and with so many new people. You will be a very different person. Will you like the person you will be? I don't think you have much of a choice, not now at least. So who are you in the future?
To be honest, the future has not quite figured that detail out, but do know she is very happy at the moment, in the dark, staring out over Robie Hill at the glowing clock on the steeple.

I also really need to change that profile picture, even though I absolutely adore it. I stopped dying my hair (now it's my natural blonde), and took out all of my facial "decorations". Oh, I also lost enough weight to make a person.
Oh, I'm also in college.
